Christmas Is Upon Us

We've had an eventful couple of weeks! The family is excited for christmas and snow as we finish of semester finals and go christmas shopping.

Logan finally got his long-awaited snowboard as an early christmas gift. I'm all set to go, with snow finally on the mountain at Tahoe, it's just a matter of time.... and a ride to Squaw. I just recently learned not to play with knives, and I had my "totin-chip" taken away after I somehow sliced through half of my finger while cutting down my snowboard binding toe strap. Go figure. It needed five stiches, kindly administered by my best friend's dad in my kitchen. I went to a school dance about 20 minutes later. It was an interesting evening. I also just got my driver's permit, so it's only a matter of months until i'm liscensed. We're all pretty stoked.
Mom & dad are doin' good, they just keep on truckin'. Cindy is working and shopping, dad is working and attempting to golf / play raquetball. He has just been released from his church calling in the stake presidency, and we are all happy for him. After 10 years and 3 months of service, he doesn't quite know what to do with the extra time!
Well, best wishes & merry christmas.
-Logan

My dad.....lovies Cindy

The three girls....We have been busy at our house this last month. My dad passed away Oct. 13, 2007, he was sick with cancer and it has been a long summer. I love him and i will miss him but i know that he is in a better place. He was buried in Folsom CA where he grew up all the kids were here and it was fun to be together.
Logan is busy with school and soccer but the season has ended so life should get easier.
to my dad...love you always...Cindy

Go Mustangs!

Ah, the smell of fresh cut grass, sweat, melting-tire turf, and smelly shoes. Get used to it, 'cause it's soccer season!
The Rodriguez Mustangs are currently 5-0, with the junior varsity a disappointing 1-1-1. Two out of the 5 other teams we play don't have a junior varsity, so we are trying to set up lots of scrimmages with other teams. We've been around the wheel once, and start again with Benicia tomorrow in our brand-spankin' new staduim. They're our only competition for league champion, but we've got a good momentum going. They're Junior Varsity really isn't that good. We should be able to take 'em. Wish Logan luck!
Dad just got home from China, with a whole string of new experiences to share. Everything from duck's tongue to live prawns, oh my! He just missed the typhoon on the way there, and we're happy to have him home. Mom is busy working and visiting Grandpa Ray, but having a great time with it.

We're packing up the waterskis and waiting for snow!

Labor Day weekend was our annual Sea Ranch Trip with the Warners. We had a great time, just had a nice relaxing weekend. We stayed at the "Mermaid House." It was quite an adventure. Labor day was spent golfing, hanging out at the beach, hiking, and watching Logan eat seven tacos for dinner!

Home from scout camp

I'm now home from scout camp! It was a great week, full of fun. I pretty much just hung out the whole, week got an all-time low of 3, yes 3, merit badges. just enough to finish up my second eagle palm. i got the photography, sculpture, and rifle shooting badges. I ended up with some neat pictures (see below) and came out a better marksman then expected. On satruday, it was dad's birthday! We sang to him and had some treats in camp. Overall, a great week full of rock climbing, shooting, and pictures.

On our way to Scout Camp!

Logan and Dad are headed to Scout Camp! This will be our 4th year going to scout camp together, and possibly Logan's last as a young man. He is already an Eagle Scout and working on his second palm, so scout camp is loosing some appeal. We look forward to a great week together.

We are going to Camp Cole at the peak of the Sierra's near Borreal Ridge ski resort. This will be our first time at this camp. The camp is all LDS scouts and includes 3 stakes. Dad is offering the opening campfire presentation. Good luck with that!

More Pictures will follow!
